By winning the RBC Canadian Open, Brandt Snedeker took home his sixth career PGA title and second of 2013. He joins Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Matt Kuchar as the only players with multiple Tour wins this year. The victory also moved him up to third in FedEx Cup Standings. Marlwood Men’s Golf League – July 24, 2013

Good morning gentlemen, attached are golf scores for Marlwood Men's League for Wednesday July 24.

Update on Dick Burton, I spoke with him last night and although he hadn't slept very good Tuesday night, he was feeling good, no pain and comfortable and his spirits seemed good.

He told me he hasn't shaved since he went into hospital, so he looks like the hockey players in the playoffs!!!!!

He is having another stent put in sometime today and I should get another update from Marie either tonight or tomorrow, and if all goes well he will either be sent back to C'Wood hospital for a couple of days??? or sent directly home, and he hopes that might happen Saturday??? he says they don't tell him much about whats going on.

Anyway I will keep you updated as I hear more news.

Dick Burton - Update on his Progress to Recovery

Good evening folks, here is the latest update on Dick for your info.

Keep him in your thoughts, he's doing better, but not out of the woods just yet.

This from Marie Burton: 

Well, it didn’t go Monday but he went in at 1030 today.  It took a bit longer because the surgeon couldn’t get through the calcium so he had to use a diamond bit router and was able to get through and put in the stent.  He has been moved to a private cardiac room now and he will remain there til Thursday when they hopefully will do the other one.  Everything went well and he is very stable and feels well.  He is tired though.  He couldn’t move for 6 hours because of the tube in his groin and he likes to sleep on his side so he will sleep well tonight. 

He went through this well so I am not as nervous now.   Thanks for your concern and prayers.  He is anxious to be home and see all his friends again.  Thank God for second chances.

Update on Dick Burton's Progress to Recovery

Good evening gentlemen, this is the latest update on Dick that I just received from Marie Burton .

It's certainly not the best prognossis, but I'm confident the big guy is tougher than this and will prevail over his health issues.

As she passes updates on to me, I will forward them on to you.

Like Marie says, keep them both in your thoughts and prayers.

I just returned home from Southlake and the prognosis is not the greatest.  He had the angiogram on Wed. and he is a candidate for quadruple bypass.  He cannot have it because he is too high risk (weak heart, obesity, diabetes, kidneys not functioning at 100%) (His chest would never heal) He could go home and risk living with the blockage but 2 are very bad.  If he experienced another attack, it would kill him.

The only option left is putting in 2 stents.  The only problem is, with all the health problems,it is still very risky.  He has opted for the stents to at least have a chance for a longer time with us.  He will probably have one put in on Monday.

 He will not be with you in the golf for at least 3 weeks.

Thanks for your concern.  Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.  This is a very difficult time but we are very hopeful.

Health Setback for Dick Burton

Wishing the best for our friend Dick Burton who had a little health issue this past weekend, all the best Dick!! The hardest working guy around the Wasaga Beach Mens' League Circuit. 

Dick went into C'Wood hospital Sunday night with chest pains and it was suspected he had a mild heart attack, he was transferred yesterday morning to SouthLake Hospital in Newmarket for further tests etc., and we got an update from his wife Marie this morning saying he has 2 arteries that are blocked and because of his other health issues he is not a candidate to have stents inserted in those arteries, and will therefore have to have surgery to repair or open those arteries, the time as yet has not been determined. Keep him in your thoughts.

Roger Gray wins Wasaga Sands Golf Club Mens' Handicap Championship

The Wasaga Sands Golf Club held its Mens' Handicap Championship this weekend. The two day event was played under great conditions. Sunny skies and very little wind with the temperature in the high 20's. Warren Shore held the lead after one day but just couldn't hold off the surging Roger Gray who won the Championship with a Net 134. Warren Shore was second with 135 and Butch McLaughlin and Rick Zahorchak tied for Third with 141. Club Captain Paul Pullman presented the Boston Pizza Trophy to Roger Gray to the applause of all those players present.
